What is Asthma?

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disorder caused by constriction of the airways and mucus secretion and characterized by shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing and tightness of the chest. It is a lung problem and because of the inflammation airways becomes sensitive which react to the things which are allergic and irritating and when it react it get narrower and flows less air to the lung tissues which causes symptoms like wheezing.

Natural home remedy using Bitter Gourd (Karela) Root

Bitter Gourd (Karela) Root: The roots of the bitter gourd plant have been used in folk medicine since ancient times. A teaspoon of the root paste, mixed with an equal amount of honey or juice of the holy basil, is an excellent expectorant, and is a best remedy for asthma. It should be taken once every night for a month.

Herbal home remedy for the treatment and cure of Asthma

  • Traditional natural home remedy for asthma - In 1 cup of water soak 1 tsp of Fenugreek seeds overnight. Strain. Add 1 tsp of Ginger juice and 1 tsp of honey to this. It has to be consumed twice during morning as well as evening. This will help in treating asthma.
  • Effective home remedy for asthma - Amongst fruits, figs have proved very precious in asthma. They provide comfort to the patient by draining off the phlegm. Three or four dry figs must be cleaned thoroughly with warm water and soaked during the night. This will give relief from asthma.
  • A soup prepared from drumstick leaves, and taken once daily, has been found beneficial in the treatment of asthma. This soup is prepared by adding a handful of leaves to 180ml of water and boiling it for five minutes. After being allowed to cool, a little salt, pepper, and lime juice may be added to this soup. This will help in curing asthma.
  • Another effective remedy for asthma is garlic. The patient should be given daily garlic cloves boiled in 30 gms. Steaming ginger tea with minced garlic cloves in it can also help to keep the problem under control and should be taken both in the morning and evening. milk as a cure for early stages of asthma.
  • Eating onion regularly is one of the most effective remedies for asthma.
  • Simple home remedy for asthma Indian Gooseberry is proved to be a very valuable home remedy in asthma. 5 gms of gooseberry mixed with 1 tsp of honey forms an effective medicinal expectorentand tonic for asthma.
