There are few who have never had the experience of having a headache. In fact, it is next to impossible to find a person who says that he has never experienced headache. The most common form of headache is tension headache, which is caused because of muscle contraction. The headaches can be chronic for many. Another form of headache is that which is caused by Migraines. There are many home treatments available for headaches, but it does not mean that headaches should be taken lightly. If the pain persists consult a doctor immediately, as it can be s sign of a more grave issue like stroke, tumor, hypertension etc. Some of the home treatments for headache are listed in the following.
Glass of Water for headaches natural treatment
It sounds a bit crazy, but it works wonders for mild headaches. Headaches are also caused because of dehydration, so drinking a glass or two of water can really alleviate the pain.
Acupressure for headaches
There are some techniques in acupressure which are helpful in relieving headaches of all types. One technique is to apply pressure on the part between index finger and thumb. Massage this area with a squeezing action, so much so, that you can feel a twinge. It must not be painful, but it should not be pleasing either. Doing this for 10 minutes can help you. This technique is not suitable for pregnant women.
Cinnamon
Make a paste of the spice with water and then apply it to your forehead and temples. The headache will vanish in some time.
Peppermint Oil
Peppermint is found to be very effective in relieving headache. Add 2-3 drops of it to olive oil and apply it your forehead.
