How to get rid of Groundhog?
Groundhog is a sweet looking and furry vermin. It is also called by names such as whistling pig, woodchuck. It is known as groundhog because of the fact that they root the earth as the pigs do. Groundhog is a sort of marmot and marmots are essentially large-sized squirrels. They have much larger paws as compared to a squirrel. With these paws, they are capable of digging a large hole which they use as their home. This is quite painful and disturbing to people who want their lawns to be perfect without any holes in there. The creature loves to feed on vegetation and if they find a home in your lawn it goes without saying that the vegetation that you have planted for eating or decorative purpose will serve as their cuisine. They can weaken the foundation of a building. The number of groundhog has increased in past decades. Also as man is extending his ventures beyond cities to make his home, his chances of encounters with this creature are quite normal phenomena. How to get rid of GroundHogs? If you need to protect your premise from its attack, you cannot rely on hunting as they multiply at an exponential rate. Thus in order to fight the creature and emerge as winners we can take several actions. The easiest way is by putting moth balls in their tunnels and blocking their holes with rags soaked fully in ammonia. If urine of a predator can be collated such as a fox, it can be poured in the hole which scares them off. Poison gas cartridges that are produced as a commercial product can also be used. A device is available which generates very shrill noise and irritates the groundhogs to the core. The best way to catch hold of them is to trap them by any means. Certain traps can prove to be life taking for them and this is not legalized so we need to consult the local authorities before using such traps. Finally if everything fails to act against them, the professional exterminators can be employed to settle the scores. |
