However, you should not do this and it can be done only when you know about the symptoms seen during this particular disease. The most commonly experienced symptom of this problem is pain on the margins of the nail. If you wear tight footwear then it would add to the amount of pain the person suffers. Moreover, this kind of nails is prone to different kinds of infections that make the situation even worsened.

Treatment of Ingrown Toenail

If you treat the problem during early stages at home then it is better. This is because many times it has been seen that people had to undergo surgery just because they did not take proper care in the beginning.

Some of the steps that can be taken at home are as follows:

Keep the affected foot clean by washing it with soap and water at least two times in a day. Avoid wearing heels and tight footwear to the maximum extent possible. Add antibacterial agents in warm water and soak your feet in it for around four times in a day. If no improvement is seen then you should consult your doctor at the earliest possible.
